We also saw that Secrets offers a "swim out" room option. We started to perform additional research and discovered that Secrets, which is right next to the JW, appeared to have better beach side amenities. When my wife and I started to plan our trip we first decided to go with a traditional hotel and booked our reservation with JW Marriott. The cost of Secrets is a little higher and the additional cost of a swim out but we found the value worth it. This crew by the beach really made our trip - a special thanks to them. David and Israel kept volleyball going with friendly and fun games (there was also a Russian girl there that also helped out). Solomon and Roberto provided the majority of our beach side service with a smile. You cannot swim in the ocean at this resort because the undertow is so strong, but if you enjoy watching huge waves roll in like we do, this is the place. The beach amenities were amazing and really made our trip. The food was also very good with great options for vegetarians or pescatarians. They do offer top shelf alcohol like Grey Goose and 1800 tequila. Some of the other things we liked about Secrets was it was an adult only resort and all-inclusive. This really appealed to us so we switched out reservation.
